With a small, senior group, every session had to earn its place — purposeful enough to respect their time, open enough to invite the honest conversations that day-to-day routines tend to crowd out. Before the retreat, we designed and built the full two-day experience: - **The programme.** We shaped a two-day arc around deep connection, honest conversation, and practical tools the team could carry back into their roles, sequencing each session so the group moved from warming up to opening up to thinking strategically. - **The leadership warmups.** We designed sessions like the Leadership Ball to break the ice among senior peers and set a tone of participation from the start. - **The innovation activity.** We built Fund it or Forget it — a role-play exercise that pushed the group beyond operational routine to pitch, challenge, and pressure-test ideas through a strategic lens. - **The strategic mapping.** We designed the Discovery Map, a visual exercise that helped the team broaden perspective and work towards a shared direction. - **The wellbeing workshop.** We created The Resilient Leader's Toolkit, a session led by our internal experts on self-awareness, stress management, and long-term leadership resilience, complete with takeaway tools. - **Branding and materials.** We designed the branding for the retreat and prepared every workshop material, giving the two days a consistent, considered identity throughout. - **Branded giveaways.** We produced branded giveaways for the group — a takeaway that extended the experience beyond the room. - **Venue and catering.** We selected the host hotel and coordinated catering and on-site arrangements, setting the right environment for an exclusive senior-leadership retreat. - **Flow and logistics.** We mapped the flow end-to-end, so the two days felt smooth and intentional rather than stitched together. ## **Execution** Across the two days, our team facilitated the full experience: **Leadership warmups** — Interactive openers like the Leadership Ball eased the group in and built early momentum. **Fund it or Forget it** — A role-play session where the leaders stepped out of operational mode to challenge ideas and think like investors in their own strategy. **The Discovery Map** — A visual, strategic mapping exercise that surfaced different perspectives and pulled the group towards a collective direction. **The Resilient Leader's Toolkit** — A wellbeing workshop led by our internal experts, balancing the strategy of the retreat with self-awareness, resilience, and practical tools to take away. **Facilitation and flow** — Behind the scenes, our team managed materials, pacing, and transitions throughout, keeping the experience purposeful and seamless from first session to last. **Photography and videography** — Coverage across both days, capturing the sessions and the moments of connection between them. ## **The Outcome** The programme gave Descon's leadership team space to step back, connect, and have the conversations that often get missed in day-to-day routines. The workshops opened up honest dialogue and encouraged fresh thinking, and the group appreciated how the sessions were structured and guided. The feedback was warm and positive, with many noting how supported and well taken care of they felt throughout.
